Stem cell research: today’s world’s savior?
The statistics of Americans who favor or oppose stem cell research, the most debated issue in today’s generation, is unclear. Since this is a pro and con scenario, a person can change his/her position within a second (specifically when one is confronted by a very persuasive speaker).
People who are for it argue that it’ll actually help people from all ages (whether young or old) battle some of the life-threatening and degenerating diseases known to man such as Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s. People who are against it go further by saying that the act itself can be equated to murder. President George W. Bush has been a keen opponent of the said research. A lot of people who favor the research have been mad about it since they claim that people might not have died of the diseases mentioned if this research was made possible.
