Gays in some care giving homes are experiencing inequality.
If you think equality in the United States is being practiced thoroughly, wait until you hear this: Not all homes for the aged allow the same-sex couples to stay in the same room. For whatever reason, they do not even allow automatic transfer of assets to the same-sex partner if the person dies (a will is needed by the way). So what if the gay/lesbian elderly died of an accident? What will the long-time partner get? Nothing?
A lot of LGBT or Lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgendered groups are helping them to end this kind of injustice in the American system. They have constantly reminded the elderly gays to make a will (just a preparation in case a mishap happens) and to always update it if something comes up.
